I'll be curious to see if the plan holds up. That area is a wasteland of sprawltacular development.

What a forward thinking idea!
I'm not sure mixed use is the proper name for it but it is a nice looking development, especially for Arlington.

I also read on Facebook yesterday that an Aloft is going in on Lamar near Ballpark Way. Not part of this development, but still interesting. I think we'll see one somewhere in FW sooner or later.

I think Aloft was looking at Museum Place.

Good for Arlington.
With AT&T Stadium and the Ranger's Ballpark, it could become stiff competition for both Fort Worth/Sundance Square and Dallas/Victory Park when major sporting events are scheduled in North Texas. Fort Worth has benefited nicely and so have Dallas. I am glad to share the spoils with our city's sibling.

I really doubt this comes to fruition. I don't mean to be a "Debbie Downer" but Arlington is merely, well Arlington. I would certainly pick Sundance Square over this proposal and Victory Park seems to be coming alive although slowly.

You think that tiny plaza in the above rendering could become competition for Sundance Square or Victory Park?
Actually, I guess it could be competition for Victory Park. VP was deserted (as usual) when I was there the other day.
That said, I really enjoyed watching WFAA's noon broadcast and TV studio from the plaza. Meteorologist Greg Fields waved at me.

Here's the advertisement flier for the development. At first glance, I thought the project was considerably downsized, but I think this might just be the first phase.

Yeah, it's not the best, but it seems to have garnered a good amount of attention. Here's an article written by a good friend of mine, and fellow TCU Graduate of 2015, who was just hired by FWB.
"A variety of potential restaurants and eateries - Benihana, Mi Cocina, Torchy's Tacos and Steel City Pops - were mentioned by developers as possible tenants vying for a location in Champions Park.....No leases have been signed yet, as there have been more companies requesting for space than there is space available..."

And from the description, I'm assuming on the land between this development and I-30.

Very unfortunate news for Fort Worth and fantastic news for its largest suburb.

Very unfortunate.
D R Horton is simply returning to its origins.

According to the article, DR Horton began in Fort Worth before moving to Arlington the first time.
Regardless of where DR Horton began, this is a huge loss for Fort Worth.

My family is moving to a neighborhood just north of that, so I'm really happy for them to see their property values probably go up with all of this enhancement up there (Luxury Apartments, Mixed Use Retail, DR Horton), but it is kind of a blow for FW.
