Included is a link to the Plan itself. This was a great read and included several wonderful historic photos of the garden when it was being built back in the 1930s. I learned several new bits of trivia reading the Plan, and I'll never look at the little stone hut on the east side of University the same again!

A major step forward for the Garden and for the future development of Montgomery Street.

Are there any photos floating around displaying the process, if there is a process?

The redevelopment of the Rock Springs area of the Garden as discussed in the Master Plan has taken place over the last few years.
The Conservatory has decayed to the point where it is no longer open to the public. (Heritage Park comes to mind)
Lots of talk in the media lately about possible admission fees coming to to FW Botanic Garden to help fund maintenance and repairs and presumably to allow for implementation of the Plan.

Interesting that part of this plan is to take employees from the two non-profits who currently run the Garden and turn them into City employees. This runs exactly counter to the typical conservative ideal of outsourcing non-essential jobs from government and turning it over to the private sector. Not sure where this part of the scheme is coming from.

I think a lot of people are concerned about this 35' x 70' sign towering over the Botanic Gardens. If you remember, the location for this extremely large sign is in the parking lot for the gardens....
A large sign that towers over the Botanic Gardens would not be an issue if the BG rethought its expansion idea.
It still does not make sense to me that the Botanic Gardens has decided to expand it boundary to the south and west instead of expanding east of University and incorporating a part of Trinity Park into its boundary. In earnest, there is a significant chunk of Trinity Park that is hardly used. This is abundance of publicly owned land could immediately added to and upgraded with new plantings and beds for use of an greater BG.

Well, I'm sure their health policy is better and less expensive to provide for the employer when they become City employees - but surely that isn't the reason .

Sounds like a positive for the Botanic Gardens but only time will tell. I just hope to start seeing some improvements soon... maybe we can pass along the idea of the pedestrian and bike bridge over University Dr from Trinity Park

A bridge would be awesome and is something that I have suggested in the past. A portion of Trinity Park would be a great place to expand and add new gardens to the Botanic Gardens.

Went to the Botanic Gardens for the first time in years. I couldn't believe how nice it was. Place was absolutely packed with visitors on Saturday. Enjoyed having the Japanese Garden open with the regular admission.
They are still adding new plants along some of the new walkways, but plenty of things were in full bloom. It was a pleasant way to spend an afternoon right in the heart of the city. My grandkids really enjoyed seeing the dinosaur exhibit spread out through the park.
If you are not a member, I recommend buying your tickets ahead of time if you are going on a weekend.

I bought a membership a couple of months ago and it was a great investment. I have been going several times a month and, like you, I am so glad to regularly explore the Japanese garden to sit and meditate. The membership actually gives members a time to enter the gardens before the public each day which makes it a bit more tranquil.

I had seen this during the Stockshow that supposedly says "It's officially Stock Show season in Fort Worth! By showing their membership cards, FWBG Members receive free admission to the Fort Worth Stock Show grounds"
https://www.instagra...robidach/&hl=ja
were any Forum members able to do this this year? Also, any idea of this was a one-off deal or something that garden members can expect every year?
