Anyone know what is going up behind the Whataburger at Berry and Forest Park? It spans the block from east to west and has a lot of work going on below street level at the moment.

Yes, it is another apartment complex with ground floor retail. I think the same developers that built the Vue are doing this project. The Vue is at University and Devitt, diagonally across from the back of Kroger. The name of the project is Loft Vue and it is off-campus student housing.

Well, that's awesome. I changed the thread title to reflect that. I drove down that stretch of University last week for the first time in several months and I was pleasantly surprised with how nice The Vue turned out. Lots of exciting development in yet another neighborhood in Fort Worth.

Also, I will probably need to move this over to "Residential" because that will be the primary use of the building. As for The Vue, a few days ago, I took a really great photograph of the building. I should post it.

Here are a few pictures of the, in progress, Loft Vue Apartments on McCart/Forest Park - in back of Whataburger.

The last two pictures were taken on the same day but a few hours apart. The sky change is cool.

Is this a good deal for students, compared to the dorm?  They seem sort of high-end, but maybe most live in this type of housing, I don't know.

I think TCU is increasingly becoming a "high end" university.

TCU is building dorms to try and accommodate 2/3 of students to live on campus if they choose.  As of today, there have to turn down students who are Juniors and Seniors that want, but cannot, live on campus for lack of space.

One dorm is under construction with another planned to start next year.  In the next 3 years, all of Worth Hills Greek housing will be either redone or replaced with larger facilities.

This private school wont seem so private in the near future...

Private does not = small.

It's in the name: BIG XII

(If you want small and private, come to Wesleyan!)
