A UT move to SEC could cost the Waco, Lubbock and Fort Worth economies $500M
The $500M figure is per year. He lays out the implications of scenarios in which the Big 12 re-expands or dissolves.

As a TCU alum, I suspect the Big 12 will bring in 2 teams at first, Cincy and either UCF or Memphis to help out WVU. It keeps the current media deal for 10 team revenues in place IF the OUT schools leave before 2025. This is of course if the PAC-12 doesn't come calling before that and I don't think they are going to invite TCU if they invite anyone.
I think the end game is this
WEST EAST
Colorado State UCF
BYU Cincy
Boise State USF
Houston Memphis
TCU WVU
Okie State Iowa State
Texas Tech Kansas
Kansas State Baylor

Would you rather see USC or Memphis at AGC?

Not a good plan.. it’s a supped up MWC. The latest real news is the Big12 and the PAC12 are talking about a scheduling alliance.

Yes it is a souped up Mountain West but at this point TCU doesn't have much of a play if the PAC 12 has no interest. You make the best of the hand your dealt and the best at this point is to try to align the best of the schools that remain.
Can't hold out hope about what the PAC 12 is going to decided because then they hold all the cards.

I like this plan if of course the PAC 12 is out and there is no other alternative. The only change I would make is to move Baylor to the West along with the other TX schools and Kansas State to the East to stay with Kansas.

USF and UCF would be great gets if it happens, but I would expect Miami to gladly take them into the ACC, and everything I have read was that West Virginia has had a foot out the door since they joined and waiting for the ACC to allow them in, not sure who the fourth would have to be for the ACC to make sense of the conference, Notre Dame has a contract that if they join any conference for football it has to be the ACC, not that it couldn't be broken. But they could greatly strengthen their position by adding Notre Dame, WVU, USF and UCF, create a strong hold in Florida to battle the SEC and then realign north and south instead of costal and Atlantic, whatever that means. I would also much prefer an agreement with the Pac12, just fearful of what power in talks they would have, so much is about media rights, and without Texas OU, the AAC has a more powerful group of schools for television dollars than the markets left in the Big12
At the bottom is from 2019, or if you want a good look at the season as a whole - https://www.sportsmediawatch.com/college-football-tv-ratings/
so if Cincinnati and UCF can pull more viewers on Cable than TCU WVU on a network it starts to become more about the total dollars that someone can bring. And does the Pac 12 want to do the heavy lifting when they can kickoff around midnight against a sunbelt team and pull the same numbers, and not risk losing the game
11/14, Noon TCU-WVU FOX 0.85 -50% 1.37M -47%
11/21, 3:30p CIN-UCF ESPN 0.9 +41% 1.58M +61%
11/21, 10:30p USC-UTA ESPN 0.8 -20% 1.33M -18%

well color me shocked and wrong, Big12 was able to add BYU, not a good geographic fit with them and UCF, but Cincinnati and Memphis I think are both great fits for culture, good media markets, and as of recent history, reliable programs. On a work front for me, a bit of a blow to the AAC and the annual basketball tournament here at Dickies for them to lose the two marquee basketball programs in the conference, and not a good sign of things to come with out three top programs.
