Now here's a development we can all get excited about. Mega convenience store/truck stop Buc-ee's is possibly looking at land at the NE corner of I-35W and 114:

http://www.star-tele...adlines-default

I'm sure a lot of people will look down their nose at this (yeah, it's pretty cheesy and embraces a whole host of stereotypes about Texas), but it's a guilty pleasure stop for us on any road trip to Houston or San Antonio. I love their branded snack and deli items, even if they are on the expensive side for a convenience store.

The article describes it as a cross between Central Market and Bass Pro Shops, but I've always thought of it as more of a hybrid of QT, Wal Mart, and Cracker Barrel. We stopped at the one in Madisonville on July 5th and again on our return trip last Sunday and I was surprised to see that during that week they had cleared out the entire retail/crafty shopping area of the store. The only merchandise they were carrying was their own branded items.

Many stops at the location near Prairie View A&M. Great fudge and clean restrooms. lol

I wish the area could have landed the Nebraska Furniture Mart being built in The Colony.

They get a pass from me. Those clean bathrooms guarantee that they get my business. The Buc-ees in Waller is massive.

I'll say this, it seems to be about as perfect a location for it as possible.

The Northeast corner of this intersection appears to be in the mythical city of Northlake, if it is, Fort Worth won't have to provide any tax incentives.

And won't receive any sales or property taxes.

I'm confident they'll figure out a way to do it regardless. "All development is good, even if it's in another city."

Picked the kid up from school and took a quick field to the new Buc-ee's. It's pretty similar to the other locations I've visited and it wasn't any busier that late in the day. Gas was below $2, so I took advantage of that. I bought about $25 worth of snacks that we don't need and could probably buy far cheaper elsewhere.

I just don't get the allure of this place.  I want a quick easy in/out stop on the road.  No lines to buy a dr pepper or pay for gas is what I like.  This place is the exact opposite of that type of place.

I've been to a few of their locations a handful of times. I've never waited in line for gas or a Dr. Pepper. It's no more of a hassle than stopping anywhere else.

I was told today the restrooms are pretty spectacular, well at least large. That's about it.

I've heard rumors that Buc-ee's has its eye on the Weatherford area, but haven't seen anything from official sources. But there are several real estate listings in Parker County that, as a selling point, mention the properties' proximity to a future Buc-ee's in Hudson Oaks. Do any of you know if these are signs that something is actually in the works, or just wishful thinking to make a sale?

It makes sense as it's one of the only directions into the area not covered.  Covered are 35W, 35E, and 75 from the north, 30 and 20 from the east, and 45 from the south.  35W and 35E from the south and 20 from the west are pretty much all that's left out.

Nothing official here:

Not really seeing anything on the Parker County Appraisal District Website:

https://iswdataclien...202112101106054

Like someone said online, I don't think that 6-7 acres off of I-20 and Center Point Dr. would be big enough for a Buc-ee's.  They need more like a 15-20 acre site.

Not final, but Buc-ee's is likely to build in Hillsboro near the convergence of 35W and 35E. It would be 74K sqft. https://hillsbororep...s-p27581-54.htm

This has been making its rounds online the past several months.  Not a bad gig for managing the new car wash:

S-T article talking about Buc-ee's wages:

https://www.star-tel...e270489667.html

(Funny if you read the article, Sen. John Cornyn tweeted a similar sign about Buc-ee's wages just a few hours after the one I posted above (from Reddit).  Probably just a coincidence?)

Buc-ee's cashiers make more money than I make as an airline gate agent.
