I love the stone ornamentation going up on the upper floors. Can't wait to see the base get facaded.

A shot at some of the masonry work being done near the top of the Carnegie. Sure to be quite handsome.

Handsome pics Mr. R

Looked like a pretty day for the pics. (If we may assume you didn't Photoshop those clouds in. cool.gif )

I sure am anxious for them to finish out the ground floor to see what it is going to look like.
Just in case others don't know this, this building has several openings in the Tower Parking garage for employee parking. They have reserved a few floors of parking by my understanding. There is a large section of reserved spaces being marked off at this moment on their behalf. (I think 200 spaces is what I heard) Their parking will be on 2 and 3, below the Tower's secured resident parking on 4 and 5.

July 20 photo's are sharp, clear, clean ! Opinion: Top one might have been better 1/4 f-stop higher. Bottom one is bit underexposed. All in all - great !!

Question please: Camera body? Lens ? The camera Exif display should tell you what the settings were for each of the images. Share please?

Thanks for the show and tell !!

From what I can tell from peering around the scaffolding, the stone detailing going up on the ground floor is very nice. Hints of Deco and Prairie influences. I like it.

One opening on one floor, Level 3 in The Carnegie I can't remember which floor it is in the garage. But it is 200 spaces.

Dave, I do agree with you on all points. On the second Carnegie shot, I had a couple that had better exposure, but I liked the view better in the under exposed shot. I probably should have taken more time to brighten that photo with Photoshop. Anyway, here are the display settings for the photos:

Camera Body: Nikon D70
Lens: AF-S Nikkor 18-70mm

First Carnegie Photograph:
Focal Length: 35mm
AperatureL: f 9.0
Shutter Speed: 1/100 sec

Second Carnegie Photograph:
Focal Length: 29mm
Aperature: f 10.0
Shutter Speed: 1/200 sec.

There they are, working the late shift on this great building. Lots of overtime. It is as though the guy building it has 2.3 - 2.5 Billion dollars. Lots of progress. Thanks for the link to the Business Press David. Good stuff.

Here is a photo from yesterday of this great new building, along with another photo of why I like this building twice as much as I did last week...

This next picture is why I am thrilled with this building now. I have been growing less happy with this building in the last month or so as it was looking too "busy" in its design. Surprise, surprise. The biggest problem I had with the building was too much pattern, mostly cased by the spaces between stones on the fascia. What I didn't know (This is where it is acceptable to laugh because I can't actually hear you) is that they are coming back and putting grout or whatever between the stones (rock panels?). NOW IT LOOKS GREAT, or will as they clean up the stones after the grout is all in. Take a look at the difference in this shot. I put a red check-mark next to the grouted stone and a blue check-mark next to the un-grouted stone. Wow. I LIKE IT AFTER IT IS GROUTED! How was I supposed to know they were going to do that? Anyway, I am way crazy about what this building is GOING to look like.

BTW: Those are not my blue PHOTOSHOP X's on the windows. Those are real.

As it has been like 10 weeks without an update pic (true, the progress has slowed at the finish line) here are a few.
They were working there again this Saturday morning. As the glass gets cleaned, this building looks great. I am very happy with every aspect of it except the night lighting. (Boring) Let's take a look, shall we?

Walking past the Carnegie yesterday morning I took this shot of the Eastern exposure. No tripod, bit fuzzy, but I still like the buidling/sky.
