According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the city is really starting to attract many visitors.  Last year, 8.8 million people visited the city.

Just to put that into perspective, NYC and Orlando draw about 60 million per year.  So it seems like we're way behind that, but on the other hand, we're drawing more visitors per city resident than NYC does.

Guys, cut us some slack.

You would not seriously compare the Financial and Entertainment Capital of America, (NYC) or the Amusement Park Capital of America (Orlando) or The Alamo City to Fort Worth.  f so, you may as well add Las Vegas to your list.

A quick number check for comparable cities to Fort Worth revealed visitor numbers for Oklahoma City (7.5million) and Memphis (10.2 million).  I think if you were to add Arlington to the Fort Worth number, you would be doubling what either OKC or Memphis can show.

I don't think either of those posts were meant to slight what Fort Worth is bringing in.  Just giving some perspective.  I was wondering about how FW stacked up against comparable cities.  You're probably on the right track on the total county numbers, especially if you throw in the 2 resort hotels in Grapevine.  Depending on how local visitors vs. out-of-town visitors are counted, Arlington could be brushing up against FW's numbers - 2.7 million for the Rangers (3.4 in their best year), probably around 2.5 million for Six Flags, and somewhere between 1.5-2million for AT&T Stadium (the Cowboys pulled in just under a million in 2016 if you include the preseason, probably over that in 2017 since that will include a playoff game).

Why not? The Disney parks are in Lake Buena Vista and most of the "Las Vegas Strip" isn't in the Las Vegas city limits.

For the purposes of counting visitors, I guarantee you Orlando counts what comes into Disney and Vegas counts what comes into the strip. And comparing FW to either is pretty apples to oranges. Orlando and Vegas draw a far larger percentage of their visitors nationally and internationally and draw a lot of large scale convention business. FW draws convention business on a smaller scale and brings in far more visitors and tourists on a regional level. And FW's geographic situation is far different from Orlando or Vegas since neither of those cities sit a 30 minute drive from another major city.

It was in reference to including Arlington/Tarrant County with Fort Worth.
