Went to Tyler on Columbus Day for a day trip.  Here are a couple of the photos that I took:

Tyler is really interesting. 2 200 foot towers and a couple of other interesting bits of architecture. It's pretty dilapidated though, maybe some day downtown will start to come alive again.

I used to go to Tyler to do the Beauty and the Beast Bicycle Tour every year.  It was always a lot of fun.  It looks like downtown hasn't changed a bit, except for the gutting of the theater.  Do you know what is happening with it?

I went and looked at Google Street View and it has been that way since at least 2008.

Tylers an odd little town IMHO, very cool, good bit of things going on, like many secondary cities, most if moving to outer loop, downtown is nice but void of much going on which is truly sad. I looked sat the old hotel building that the county took over and used for a while to either do a Hotel or apartments. I still think apartments might work and could be a cool project, they say there is HUGE demand, but calling around didn't support what was being said quite as strong as they say, and couldnt get any major hotels chains to go for it. Still would love to do a turn around on the building for lofts.
