The police project must be dead. The land is now on the market again. $1.1M for less than half an acre.

That's sad.  Maybe someone could purchase it and actually develop it.

And the police association is still without a new building.

It's a shame that they have very little recourse and they'll never see the money they threw away on this.  I would say this is a pretty good cautionary tale on avoiding ventures into real estate development when that's not your primary business.

I have two brightsides to this:

1. That land can be used for more residential (my personal thought is that space should be used as more apartments to blend in with what's already there)

2. The police could use one of the surface lots on Henderson since it's closer to the jails and courts

Very few police officers work near the court building and jails.

It will be interesting to see what is actually built on this site.  I do think residential would be a good use.

You have a good point.  I think the biggest disappointment where there is no retail is up on Samuels Avenue.  It would be nice to have a couple of restaurants in that section of downtown between Henderson and the river.

A sign is up on the property for the broker, Northern Realty Group.  I happened to notice it when I was taking some skyline shots yesterday.

The FWPA has a "new" location on Forest Park, across from the "new" city hall. I've been watching this remodel for months, but had no clue what the building was going to be. A few days ago they placed the medallion sign on the front. The sign is especially striking when it is lit up at night.

They did tons of work on the top of the building. It has lots of solar panels. There's not very much parking, but maybe they plan on using city hall.

I am surprised they are able to do much after being ripped off so bad a few years ago.
