#109684 Ft Worth visions

Posted by A_Random_Username on 30 March 2018 - 02:05 PM

I would like to see what other forum members here want to see built? Doesnt have to be a tower or apartment either. It could be new/improved roads, transit, busses.

Id really like to see an improved mass transit. Better bus schedules/routes. If there was a bus/subway/light rail that ran past 3am and ran close to my house id be on it daily.

Also would like to see the current roads have some aort of bike lane. Closest road to me that has one is biddison.

Any one else want to share?

Additionally I feel like I learn from here. I do like to see what is being proposed and built in the city.

I enjoy this forum as well. to me its a more organised social media focused on 2 or 3 subjects, rather that what facebook and twitter currently are. I must admit I know next to nothing about architecture or design, or anything closely related, so I am not too active in responses, sadly. I do read past discussions and debates, though. I check the forums probably 2 -3 times a day. I prefer this over facebook and twitter combined,

#108402 Judging the walkability of Fort Worth.

More than half of the downtown is parking. For what? Nothing worth having that many spaces.

#107876 Awesome mid-mod interior at 9th & Houston

This building is the site of the proposed Canopy Hotel by Hilton.  If built, this building and interior will be demolished.

Would be nice if they kept the interior

#107834 Economic Development Plan

Ironically, we're less and less likely to split into separate metros as long as our employment doesn't keep up with our population growth.

maybe if we just go ahead and split into our own metro, like we should have done 25 years ago, our employment would still be growing. assuming the potential is as high as everyone is saying it is.

#107734 Facebook Fort Worth Data Center

Posted by A_Random_Username on 10 December 2017 - 02:00 AM

Could the announcement of additional data centers for Fort Worth's Alliance region (Facebook, T5 Data and others) bode well for Fort Worth's chances at Amazon?

I believe it will. as with that, could also net us true fiber lines in the city/'burbs as well.

#107484 Mixed-use project at Magnolia & May

Kinda like the color scheme.

It may fit more in South Florida or South Texas, but I like it.

it is different from the normal brown/copper stuff we are used to for sure. brings a sort of pop in to the city

Even more equipment and personel are there, with a substantial amount of dirt gone. Its rather satisfying seeing this type of project happen.

#106508 FW's Next Area to Revitalize?

Posted by A_Random_Username on 10 October 2017 - 01:29 PM

drove by Victory Park today and across hemphill is a fenced off area. cant remember the exact wording on the sign but it was similar to 'Victory Park Community Projects'. Ill be driving by there again today and will try and get a picture if I can.

#106496 Elon Musk is teasing Texas again - Hyperloop

Hyperloop outlines 10 high-potential routes

The US was the country to feature most prominently on the winner's list, with four different routes

connecting a number of major cities. The longest comes from a team called Texas Triangle,

who put forward a proposal that could connect Houston, Austin, San Antonio,

Dallas and Laredo with 1,030 km (640 mi) of tube.

If Fort Worth is not apart of this, then I don't give a damn.

I agree.

#106495 TEXRail

Posted by A_Random_Username on 09 October 2017 - 11:25 PM

I would love to have better transit options. subways, better bus routes/times (thinking 24/7), better rail options. I would support developments that increased the options and/or improve existing plans. face it, our transit system sucks. we can continue letting it suck as is, and feeling the increase of vehicle traffic, and with that traffic accidents, OR, we can improve it, in turn give something to the developers to bring them in. if this goes through and it does happen to reach down Hemphill towards Seminary, more developers would want to come in and build in town. Id love to see Ft worth as something other than Dallas' little brother, and until we can get the transit system fixed, and developers coming in, we will never be a separate city.

#106377 Ramble & Rose (Rosedale & Jennings)

Posted by A_Random_Username on 04 October 2017 - 01:41 PM

Went by the QT off of Rosedale and Hemphill today and noticed several cement mixers and a couple of dump trucks on the property. Noticed some dirt hills building up the past few weeks as well. Assuming this area is the same as mentioned.

The trucks were on the southeast corner of said property, not that that means anything, haha
