John and other forum members, I've noticed that a good numer of forum members have cameras and enjoy photography. Do you think we should add a special section where people can showcase their photography? I'm thinking the focus should be on urban and historic places in Fort Worth and around the world, but wouldn't be limited to that. The FW pics could perhaps help John on the website, too.

Who thinks it would be a good idea? And what should the outline be on what kind of pictures are included?

I think it would be a great idea. One day last week, the thought did cross my mind. I think we could put up several categories. One would be on Fort Worth only. Another could be for other cities and then maybe the last one could be for nature, wildlife, and pictures that were not "urban".

Thanks for adding them, John. The sub-sections are exactly what I was thinking of. I'll be doing some 'hood tours and miscellaneous downtown stuff now that the proper section has been provided.

Just out of curiousity, does this section have mods? No one is listed underneath the forum description.

Since I live over 400 miles away and don't get to Fort Worth as often as I would like, the photographs everyone posts are greatly appealing to me. Anything that encourages the posting of photographs has my support.

Jonny, the section does not have any mods at this time. Are you volunteering? Otherwise, Greg and I will just continue to run things.

Norman, thanks for the comments. I think adding this section is just a natural progression of things here on the forum. I would like to add that if you post a photograph of a building (or anything else) that I like, I may ask to use that photo on my web site. You will receive full credit, just like the individuals who have taken The Tower construction photographs. Obviously, you noticed that I have moved certain existing threads over here already.

I've never done any modding before, but I'm pretty well aware of the responsibilities. I gues if it takes a load off your back, then I could mod this section. :(

Being a moderator is just another set of eyes to keep everything in check. I realize that you have school, but it is very easy work.

We might also consider having photography sessions. When I first started this forum back in 2000, all during the summer, I posted when and where I would meet someone who wanted to come along and shoot buildings. Even though I kept announcing for several months, I would go and wait at the specified location for 20 minutes after the announced time and no one would show up. I did this every week for an entire summer, so it was a little frustrating when I would be waiting around for no one.
