Getting a handful of:

IPB WARNING [2] Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/fortwortharchitecture.com/httpdocs/forum/cache/skin_cache/cacheid_6/skin_global.php:1097) (Line: 407 of /sources/classes/class_display.php)

at the top of the screen, and when I click "View New Posts" at the top of the forum index, nothing comes up, but it trys to bring up some funny lookin' URL (WARNING: I am not going to go to this url directly, incase there is some sorta virus or worse, dont blame me if you click on it since I dont know what it does, you have been warned):
http://1109226593/kav/index2.php

I have Firefox and am experiencing severe difficulties: same as poster above and it's almost impossible to navigate anywhere.

I didn't know about the crazy URL. I don't know how to fix this, but I bet one of the other administrators might. Another way to handle it would be to have an upgrade.

I have Firefox and, while it's really slow, I'm not having trouble getting anywhere on the forum. I'm also seeing the crazy header at the top.

DO NOT try to use it with Internet Explorer. Last night, I was dumb and thought I might try and see if it was somehow a Mozilla type problem and pulled it up in IE. My virus program immediately came up and said that it had removed a virus from my disc.

Usually I have better since than to use IE on the open Internet - though sadly, there are still a few webites out there that do not function well with anything but IE.

Another board I sometimes read had a similar problem a while back that had something to do with particular skins. I tried changing skins here with the option that allows one to do so but nothing changed at all. I don't know if this helps any or not - but I do see something in the error message referring to skins.

Everyone, I'm working on the problem. Please give me a little time to take care of it, and if I can't, then I will upgrade the board. As in previous upgrades, it will probably be down for a few days. Please be patient.

It appears that the thread links on the main page are corrupted, possibly intentionally, and redirect you to a bogus/blank site... essentially preventing browsing from taking place. I found two ways to get around this for now:
1) Scroll to the bottom of any page and use the Lo-Fi Version to browse the threads, find a thread and scroll to the bottom again and select “click here” to view the full version and it brings you into that thread for adding posts.
2) Use the search tool to bring you into any of the threads as long as you know who or what you are looking for.

Hope this helps.

It seems to be a skin problem, possibly from a malicious attack from some lunkhead that needs to get out more and find some reasonably useful way to spend his or her brief existence on this planet instead of holed up in his or her Mom's basement trying to feel some shallow sense of power by annoying a crowd of complete strangers. Freakin loser. "I'm just trying to be realistic without becoming pessimistic."

For now, I've (hopefully) converted everyone to a test skin (fwf_test) that I was messing with earlier this year when life was a wee bit simpler. It had the same problem initially, but I ran a Powerboard skin rebuild utility thingy against it and in my brief exploration it seems to have made things better. If it works okay for everyone and we find no unfortunate side effects, I'll run the Powerboard skin rebuild utility thingy against the other skins and everyone can switch back or a I can switch everyone back or whatever. "If we have truth we can survive..."

So cue up Cameo's "Skin I'm In", browse and post away in our beloved forum, and let me know of any problems. I'll make sure messages sent to me through the forum go to an email address I can actually access these days.

Hope all is well.

Goodnight.

PS: if this was a malicious attack from some lunkhead, we are still vulnerable until we upgrade again and he or she is probably still a mischievous dork.

Multiple-choice polling and public polling do not work in this skin (fwf_test). I don't remember if they ever did. Either I never added the necessary modifications to this skin, or the skin rebuild utility took away the modifications that allow those features to work. Will check that later; I still have promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep or something along those lines. In the mean time, hold off on the multiple-choice and public polls. And have a great day.

Yes, I had the same Multiple lines of code in the header resulting in my McAfee Virus software ringing all kinds of bells and whistles. I stayed away from the site for a few days hoping it would be resolved.

Several hours later of checking my hard drive for viruses found nothing.

Got brave just now and checked the forum... issue appears to have cleared.

Thank you, Donnie for the assistance on the board. The forum will probably go down soon for an upgrade to help correct the problems that have shown up. I don't know how long it will be down, but be prepared for it being down a few days.

  • rebuilt all skins
  • converted everyone back to skin 'IPB 2.1 Default'
  • added back the modifications for that skin to allow multiple-choice and public polling and tested same in the practice forum (although part of it didn't work like it should so i worked around it; will try to get it to work the correct way after the upgrade).
  • will be largely out-of-pocket for the next few days or so, but let me know if something is broken and i'll try to make time.

thanks for your patience.

have a great day.
