Caliber Collision has purchased the J&J Supply building at 2510 White Settlement Rd. and will move there 1/1/15 after a remodel.  They will be vacating their 7th St. building.  J&J Supply will be moving to Beach St. just south of the Airport Freeway about 8/1/14.

FINALLY!

My hope is that caliber building comes down ASAP and gets replaced by something better. Would be a perfect spot for a midrise development.

Yes - LONG overdue.  The Caliber building has been a dead spot ever since the street started coming back.  IIRC, it goes back a ways behind the street frontage - potential for a nice development.

It goes back to just short of the Art House building and tapers down in width as it goes away from the street. According to TAD, it's actually 2 lots of slightly less than 1.5 acres or 63k square feet.

I started to type something else. But on second thought, I'll just leave my thoughts on the math skills of those over at TAD to myself.

Clearly the highest best use for this space would be a multi-story pay parking garage for all those folks coming to W 7th for fun times via automobile.

(Yes, that is exteme sarcasm.)

That's great news for the industrial stretch of White Settlement road.  J & J is UGLY. Can't wait to see it as an auto garage.

It looks like the old caliber collision building is now being offered as retail, according to the sign out front.

Austin, I saw that yesterday.  I had lunch with a friend at Velvet Taco and then we went down to the Main Street Arts Festival.
