Click on the link to see Selfridges architectural lighting scheme.
The Post Office would look very cool at night with something like this.
Perhaps it could coordinate its color with the light sculptures along Lancaster.

The sculptures on Lancaster are called "Avenue of light". But really it ought to be called "Tall things in the median lit up" I say we light up the post office, both T&P buildings and everything that is to be built on Lancaster like that, then we will truly have something worthy of being called the "Avenue of lights"

Surely some LED'S couldn't be to expensive.

I'm all for it.  The Post Office would look beautiful at night with all of the columns illuminated.  I would suggest white for most of the year and then colors for special events.

Is there doubt anymore that the Post Office should remain as a public space?  I am encouraged that the city stands ready to secure it for civic use.

^They proved a few weeks ago they were willing to spend the money on it, immediately before it was taken off market.

Lighting is a great idea but the only viable Lancaster Avenue candidate at present is the T&P Lofts.  The future occupancy status of the Post Office is in question.  Lights on the T&P Warehouse would help disguise the blight at nighttime, at least, but I can't imagine the present owner doing such a thing.  Maybe additional lighting will be part of the new mixed-used project.
