Looking at HistoricAerials.com, one sees the present building appear in 1957 next to a group of temporary buildings just south of it. The temporaries are gone by 1963.

I remember from long-ago library research about local schools that it was built in the 1950s as a "colored" school and replaced an earlier building on the same lot. Beyond that I know not.
