Apparently, GDA Architects doesn't think a great deal of its design work for the planned residential high-rise tower in Fort Worth.  No press release on The Worth Residences on their website.  And the artist's drawing is not to be found anywhere in its Portfolio or Projects sections.  If I missed it, someone please correct me.

I'm guessing that DFWI snatched the Austin tower drawing for its website ostensibly showing the planned Worth Residences because they couldn't find that actual artist's drawing on the GDA Architects' website.

You're making a lot of assumptions.  Maybe there isn't a high quality rendering ready yet?  Maybe the client hasn't given the architect the go ahead to release the rendering?  There are plenty of reasons to not put the design on their site that have nothing to do with them not thinking highly enough of their own work.

jfwd, post #50 includes a statement reported in the FWBP; perhaps you should read the FWBP article more carefully. The article reports that the developer is specific about the time when all details will be released.

Also, 5th+West (Austin, Texas) is widely praised for its design work and the developer lavishly credits GDA Architects,Inc.  I believe from all indications that the developer and GDA have a excellent working relationship.

The case goes before the Downtown Design Review Board on Thursday to vacate the alley through the middle of the proposed block.

It is a different building. That's 5th + West residences in Austin. Same architect, though. And way taller at 37 floors.
http://austin.towers...dos/fifth-west/

"The Worth sales office, complete with finish out samples and detailed renderings, is scheduled to open near the site in the first half of 2018". FWBP

These three encouraging signs lead to a presumption that this project is moving along at a much quicker pace than the pace of your typical Fort Worth project.

I promised you; I have no inside information, but this project, for which I cited has some very encouraging signs, is looking like it is ready for take off.

Also, is there reporting of at least one additional project besides this one?

I read the article on my phone earlier and it's behind the paywall now, but there was something in there about a 10 or 11 unit townhome project in the area that's under construction and a mention of another high rise project with an announcement after the first of the year.

johnfwd - Sorry for my less than cordial reply this morning.  I was rolling out of bed with the beginnings of a sinus infection and got a little punchy behind the keyboard.  That wasn't my intent.

Understand that. Also, good to hear there's potentially another project proposed, I'll bet it's also Zamco,

Poking around TAD, the same ownership group owns 3/4 the block the block due south,  along Belknap. There's a 2 story law office w green tile roof and a parking lot out front which they don't have.

  A high rise apartment tower?

Funny; we were guessing what area would be the next "uptown".  This corner (River x Henderson x Belknap) could be just the one.

I am really excited about this residence tower. I am anxious to walk over to the little sales office they will build to hear the details. I am mostly interested in the pricing and rules. (And dues and parking for sure)

I think the location is great.  A little bit removed from downtown's core (Also: See Henderson Street) but may have the best views in town.  Also, I think there will be a pedestrian bridge at the river linking that area to the West 7th area.  I think that is being built by the new apartments in Left Bank?

I believe "the core" is about to expand... finally.

Really need to work on the Upper Westside, next.

Anyone here conjecture as to why the apparent increase from 24 to 27 stories, as depicted in the artist drawing (Post#68)? Is the property owner reacting to increased market demand for hotel space?

Thanks.  I've got hotel-itis  on the brain.  What I meant was an increase in market demand as an explanation for adding three more floors to the proposed building?

I think it means they've found a way to make more money with 27 floors than they would have with 24 floors.  Or they think they will.

I joined the newsletter on the website and this excerpt is from an email to me.

Thank you for your interest in our exciting project. We are in the mid-phase of schematic drawings and will rapidly progress into design drawings where the project really takes form. We are planning on 28 stories and approximately 120 homes.

The Worth will offer a range of services including a 24-hour door presence, professional management, and valet. Our building will feature resort-style amenities and will include a 5th level amenity deck with an owners lounge featuring a demonstration kitchen/bar, swimming pool, outdoor grilling stations, heated spa, fitness center, yoga deck and lush landscaping. The Riverview Lounge will be located on the top floor of The Worth and will be an intimate setting for entertaining with stunning views of the sunset and the Museum District.

There's 22 floors above the pedestal in the last rendering.  That top floor is going to have a killer view.

Looks nice, but I'm starting to get a little concerned about the width of this building. This looks wider than the tower in Austin.

It's starting to look like a glass version of Burnett Plaza, except with balconies.

If it is 28 floors that would put it at 320' based on 5th + West's height.

Here's a model, 28 floors at 11.5 ft per floor.

From what will be the north bank of the Trinity just off Main, where the tower looks awful lonely.

In the middle pic is does look lonely, but it does provide a peak and helps bridge downtown with the buildings on the upper west side. Hopefully it will encourage more infill.

Not to be nitpicky, but it'd be nice if their renderings were contextual renderings. A simple green horizon seems lazy. Also makes it seem it could be a rendering for any ol' project and not necessarily goals for this specific project.

I guess we will know shortly at the DDRB meeting. Presumably they will also need a waiver since the land is zoned at 24.

This looks very nice.  It will make a great addition to our skyline, and it will be expanding it outward.

It'll help fill that gap in the westside between Pier 1 and Burnett for sure.
