Comcast, Charter, Time Warner and at&t all suck.
Amazing how we've come from 14.4 kbs dial-up 100 Mbps in the home! I remember when we had one t-1 (1.44 Mbps) in our office of 250+ people and thought it was great in 1996. Today we complain about having 200 Mbps of aggregate bandwidth in an office of 50.

AT&T is "trying" to get into the fiber arena, I hope they succeed, but I fear that once they discover the actual cost involved it may not role out as fast as they're hoping.
I'm gunning for Google to deploy a much larger fiber footprint than they're currently advertising, I'd like to see the major players team up to deploy a sold fiber backbone, first along our interstate highway systems, then allow local carriers and municipal entities to build off from there.
With everyone trying to reinvent their own version of the wheel, it's just passing the costs of those poorly thought out decisions onto the end user.
