If the water district has $2 million dollars in the bank that they don't need for their core function, perhaps they should reduce our taxes?
As per most governmental involvement, it wouldn't matter if they have 2mil or 10.5mil. The actual cost will be tacked on to the individuals. In this case, any water user will pay for it.
I am wondering if the use of the land as a psuedo-park adds to water retention or water service development. Does a sell or transfer to the water powers absolutely prevent the land from falling to developers later? (How do we know this is not just a shuffle?) As it is one large tract how much of it will they be able to trim off and resell to developers anyway under the banner of saving the land ..wink...wink... (don't look over there at that big chunk we sold for 5mil)...
