Seems like a lovely idea, and great for preservation.

The Midlothian-Venus area is becoming more popular for new construction because of the ability to get a lot for your money.  I have a co-worker that's building in Venus that's getting 2300 sq. ft. on 1 acre for at least $100k less than what a similar size home on a much smaller lot would go for in a closer suburb.  We also have friends that purchased in Midlothian about 5 years ago and I'm amazed at how low resale prices are in their neighborhood for 2500+ sq. ft. custom homes on 1/2 acre lots.
