Anyone know what happened at the March 5th auction for these buildings?

The silo in question is currently on fire

 I heard Paulie Walnuts was spotted in the neighborhood.

On another note, does anyone know what the grain silos held?  When I was a kid, we'd often come out of services at Travis Avenue and the wind smelled like fried chicken.  My parents told me it was cotton seed being stored at one of the nearby grain silos.  Wonder if it was this one?

In Topic: State of Downtown FW

It's that time again. DFWI held their annual meeting yesterday at the Omni. I have not seen the reports hit the web yet but FWR covered the event: https://fortworthrep...-work-recovers/

KRLD had some excerpts on the radio from Andy Taft's speech too, he was joking about the repaving downtown.

I'm glad downtown Fort Worth has so many positive things happening right now.  It's been interesting to watch living down here for the last year and a half.  Some U.S. cities aren't faring so well post-pandemic.  There is an interesting article in the Wall Street Journal today about downtown St. Louis's "doom loop."  It's behind a paywall but you can get the idea in the picture and first few sentences.

In Topic: Eclipse Fort Worth goes dark April 8, 2024

I was a bit ambivalent about the eclipse until I went on to the roof of the T&P garage and witnessed it.  I had never experienced a total eclipse.  It was spectacular and unique.  I think it's interesting that the Forum started discussing this way back in 2017.  Time marches on...

I think I got the "diamond ring" effect.
