Trinity Coffee House will have its grand opening Jan. 23. It's in the former Craftwork space and is owned by the same couple who owns 38 & Vine next door.

The owners are TCU people doing great things for their community

It appears parking has been added across the street from Craftwork to address what people mentioned about the issue of available stalls for coworking and coffee.

Havent noticed - is there any progress on the townhouses that are supposed to be built on Carroll at Weisenberger?  Same developer as the row houses a couple of blocks into Linwood.  I love the idea of brownstones but really don't like the brick they chose for those.

More of townhomes going in at 2825 Weisenberger

Overview

e5iA6f1.png

I also notice a lot of dirt turning across from Craftwerk on the eastside of Carroll in between Whitmore and Weisenberger.  This was the site of the proposed Apt. building.  I have a strange feeling that this is going to become a parking lot and not an apartment building.  Maybe the parking lot on Whitmore is too far for us Texans to walk to have to get to Craftwerk.   Hopefully I'm wrong on this.

Foundation prep work is being done on the Townhomes that face Carroll street (top right of this photo).  I believe utility work was done on the past couple of months and now they are bringing in additional soil to build up the foundation.  A good use of a small strip of land IMO.

Do you think this will be single family or multifamily? KinoD is the developer, looks like they do single and multi: https://www.kinodllc.com/gallery.html

The townhomes along Foch are going up

I also walked around Linwood some. There is a huge variety of homestyles going up in the area. These are all on Weisenbrger.

Love to see that infill. Thanks for the update.

I know those Foch InTown Homes took a few years to go up. Their website is worth a visit. They’ve done most their projects in Houston where they are based. I wish InTown would make a larger push in Near Southside and other prime vacant areas.

I like the infill, not a particularly huge fan of how it looks. Some sloppy architecture in Linwood, IMO.

The InTown products are usually pretty nice though. I think they did the ones at the NW corner of Foch and Wingate, which look quite nice.

I agree Austin.  Most of the have little character because they kinda soulless and clearly constructed only to maximize on profit.  That is kind of the road we'll be on as construction costs continue to escalate.

I'm confused by the location on the permit.  Wouldn't this be where the current condos are going up on Carrol?

I think Asana is working on this property.  That banner on the fence has their name on it too.

I had worried this townhome construction on Carroll at Weisenberger was stalled, but there are workers present today:

Seems strange that we've been talking about this for over four years but I guess they're still making progress.

Yeah this project has had several starts and stops along the way.  That was probably the 4th time that different phases starting going and then nothing for months and then work for a few months and then, pause....  it's been rinse and repeat.  Hopefully they can finish it out now.
