Cool and interesting project. Even though this is just a little silo complex, I wonder if something similar could be done with some of the massive abandoned silos Fort Worth has scattered around. Some of the large ones on South Main, or perhaps in the Purina plant is ever abandoned, for example.

They would have incredible views, for sure.

I think this sort of conversion might work with the old Allied Mill at Beach and the TRE tracks, especially in conjunction with a commuter station there.

Here's an article mentioning Eddie Vanston, the southside developer, bought an abandoned silo complex on Hemphill with ambitious and longshot plans to convert them to apartments.

What a great article. The way the Southside is blowing up is one of the most exciting things going in the city right now.

Not possible. Abandoned industrial areas are good for nothing but demolition.

It depends on what shape they're in and whether they're structurally sound.

I'm not convinced the Stockyards ruins are structurally sound. The grain elevators are.

Even though they are three blocks to the southeast of Hemphill and Biddison, I'm guessing the property that Eddie Vanston purchased is the old Fort Worth Elevator and Warehouse.  This old grain elevator sits at the corner of Alice and West Dickson.

Buffalo turned an abandoned silo complex into a brewery, zipline, art and rock wall facility. CC @doohickie
