On Saturday (In 2 days) March 21, there is a terrific event at the Oakwood Cemetery. Take a look at this flyer! It is going to be a gorgeous day in a great Cemetery. I am going to be there for sure! You should come too. (you will recognize me as the proud Fort Worth citizen with the camera gear.) Oh. And cheap blue jeans. I am going to meet Forum member Jim Ewing there.

Here is the article in Saturday's Star-Telegram about Officer Louis Park Moore

The ceremony will take place at Oakwood Cemetary today (Saturday) at 9:00 am.

Indeed, Mrs. monee9696 and I attended this historic event this morning. Wow. What a beautiful tribute to a great and nearly forgotten man. I met the Forum Member that clued me into this (Jim Ewing, my new bud). Beautiful morning in a beautiful city. Family members came from the East Coast. Members of the Fort Worth Police Historical Society were present. Great words were spoken, the Fort Worth Police Chaplin gave a wonderful prayer, a wonderful singer sang Amazing Grace. It was like a dream. Sad and Happy. Here are a few pics I took. Also, is a link to 70 pictures in a slide show. Take a look!

If you heard words of faith and inspiration from Mitch Felder, you did indeed have a nice (and blessed) morning.

In case anyone doesn't know, Mitch Felder is the Fort Worth Police Chaplain. He told me Saturday this is his 12th year with the Department.

You will recognize Mitch if you see him in his Fort Worth Police patrol car inscribed with "CHAPLAIN" on the sides.
