You were standing about 300 yards from the house where I grew up when you took that. Too bad I didn't have the idea to take pictures of the construction of 820 (the Lake Worth bridge, especially) when I was 10. Man, that highway totally wrecked the rural feel of that part of the lake when it was built. :-(

What a view! Downtown looks happenin'
Goes to show, being at the right spot, fw can look very photogenic.
Thanks Drllts!
I "briefly" slowed down on the ramp from I-35 to west bound I-30. I think I got a few honk's for my actions. I would have honked too.... if some idiot was in front of me slowing traffic and hanging his camera out the window (while driving). LOL... Photography definitly has its moments!

Did you have a correcting lens for this? It's a great shot. Some of you who have done this for a while might post your equipment and lens configuration for us "learners". I know I would be interested in how you took your shots...
thanks...

Just goes to show beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The photography work is wonderful and impressive.
But I find that view hideous. But I'm sure it's just me.

Great work by all so far! Here's my paltry little contribution:
I havent bothered to even look at this post. But was glad to see Jonny post the one and only view of DT.
That I call the wall of towers. Cant wait to see "The Wall" get a little bigger to the east. This skylive view to me, is what a basic city skyline ought to look like.
Just a hint the steps from the old Beth El synagogue has a nice spot for a DT Fort Worth view. This area is the only view where you can see all top five(and soon six) towers . That don't hind behind one another.

Those are awesome pics! Do you do that for a living? I like the last of of Pier 1 especially. Great work...
Thanks!
I try to, but thus far I've only made, oh, about $15, so yeah, that's a bit of a downer.
You should make some of the black and whites, mount them on white mats and sell them at the Main Street Arts Festival. I would certainly buy some as they would look great in my office or home...Let me know if you ever decide to do that as they are really good.

Thats a great idea! And his photos are really that good!
But you have to bid to set up shop at the Arts festival!
Thier about 1000 venders every year that want to come
to the Fort Worth Arts Festival. But only 300 are accepted.
But who knows give it a shot!

I'm sorry I have been slow in answering this question. I do not have a correcting lens. I stood as far back from the building as possible and tried to keep the camera as level as I could. The rest was corrected in PhotoShop CS2. The lens is an 18-70mm zoom.

Hyde Park panther, black & white with a blue filter. The blue filter made the water positively glow with kind of a ghostly mist look:
Bigger here.
Great framing of the subject. I'm telling you, you need to setup a way for people to buy them on your website or something. These would look great framed...

I’m hooked.
As of this week what are the best SLR bodies and lens combinations for the following:
- Architecture – entire structures and panoramas.
- Architecture – details, cornice, unique pediments, columns or caryatids, balustrades and such.
- Something that would enable me to capture the detail of say a registration sticker parked in Sundance Square from the 28th floor.

Could anyone help me by telling me how to post my DT pics here.I've been trying upload with image shack. The pics are either too big or too small, and only one at a time.Is there an easier/better way?Help would be appreciated.
Great pics Mr. Dorn,btw.
Texas imageshack is the right way to go.
Size them around 600 dpi and don't be afraid to run them through Photoshop and give them some character.
Just helping out looking good pal
Keep them coming everyone
