Right at the head of the list of the Top 15 America’s Favorite Cities for Architecture in Travel+Leisure at Number 15:  Fort Worth.

After a quick description of the Museum District, they describe downtown:

Downtown, a colorful mix of Art Deco, Neoclassical, Medieval Revival, and Beaux Arts buildings are on view at Fort Worth’s bustling Sundance Square Plaza (named after the infamous outlaw).

Oh, and by the way, my hometown of Buffalo was Number 1.  (Not used to saying that about Buffalo!)

Oooooooh, this is interesting:  In their Favorite Cities for Barbecue, Dallas came in at #10, but Fort Worth is #3, just behind Kansas City and Memphis.

Very cool.  That's a nice description of Fort Worth.

I'm not sure what made my shoulders slump more: the inclusion of Las Vegas on the architecture list (I fully expected to see Buena Vista, FL on the list after seeing Vegas) or Angelo's being the only BBQ mention under Fort Worth on that list.

So is there any remaining doubt why we all love Fort Worth as much as we do; no matter what the competition. :swg:

FW being 3rd for BBQ is probably good. KC is certainly the capital.

Yeah, hard to top KC or Memphis.  But best in Texas.... dang!  Not bad.

And they didn't even acknowledge Heim.  If you haven't been, it's worth a trip.

I'll go ahead and confess that my personal pick for the best BBQ joint around is Pecan Lodge in Deep Ellum, but Heim comes in very, very close.  The difference maker is the sausage at Pecan Lodge.  It's hard to describe, basically loosely cased ground sausage with perfect flavor, but I've never had anything like it.
