It looks like Richland Hills and North Richland Hills will be attempting to revitalize the long-deteriorating stretch of S. Grapevine Hwy. inside Loop 820. It's good to see denser development take hold out in the suburbs, although these are admittedly older, inner core suburbs inside the loop. It would be nicer if they could extend the concept up Grapevine Hwy. beyond the loop where sprawl still runs rampant.

I wish them well. I hope they aviod the problems of being a old suburbs Like Arlington that talk and talk but do nothing .Now is the time for NRH to get cracking and let the dirt fly. Blight Blight we need to stop it in Tarrant county.NRH lose so Fort Worth wins? Nope. It dont work out that way.

That's great news. Benbrook is actually looking into creating a town center, with mixed use buildings and further out medium density residences, as well as attracting some new jobs, preferably in the tech field. Take a look at this website, the plans look pleasing.

Wow! Johnny, thanks a lot for that link! I look forward to really looking over this site. While I attended WHHS and for a couple of years in middle school, I lived in this funny little enclave of Benbrook where I lived in Benbrook, but was surrounded by Fort Worth on three sides with less than 2 blocks to the city limit in any direction.

It's funny that I haven't read anything about this planned development before. About the only thing I've read about that area is how the "Westpark Wall" was needing repair, and that homeowners were going to be forced to foot the bill. Frankly, I remember when the wall and subdivision behind it were built. I hated it. It creates such a forbidding streetscape along Benbrook Blvd. while looking just too N. Dallas/Collin Co.

I know, I hadn't heard anything about it before I came upon it. Some of the info is a bit old, but the entire site seems to be updated every so often. I think Benbrook is doing a great job with it's growth. A lot of my friends live there, and whenever I go visit it has such a small town feel to it. I had no idea it had well over 20,000 people (not to mention the AMAZING view of downtown from the US 377 overpass :roflol: )

Speaking of Benbrook's growth, here's a link to the Team Ranch development's webiste:

http://www.teamranch.com/index.html

It's worth taking a look at the Community Plan, which shows that the development is going to have some expensive, well designed homes going up in the next few years. While it's not urban, it will definately boost the prestige of Benbrook as a whole.
