In Topic: New Title Sponsor for Colonial

To me it seems the tournament had a lot more Fort Worth flavor to it from past years. TV host were really talking up Fort Worth after commercial breaks From the Star Telegram article the Mayor did a lot to save this years event. And many of the players seem to want the Colonial to stay forever. Even though from what I read. Attendance was down due to the heat. It don't seem the Fort Worth name will remain next year. But we will see.

Four things I take from this years event. I wish Spieth had won again like he did in 2016. Kevin Na argues with his caddy openly. A little drama never hurts. lol. And I love the Fort Worth coverage as a whole this year. But if Spieth did not win . I am glad a international player Justin Rose won. After being gone from Colonial after eight years to win it. Nothing like having a international player to leave with good feelings about Fort Worth. Of course the goal is to have all players feel good after being in Fort Worth.

Reading what people have said outside this forum. Many Fort Worth people think we can build more freeways out of clogged traffic.

So with the news about Fort Worth moving to 15th largest city in the U.S. I was dismayed in reading Mayor Price facebook page. One guy said we need more "freeways" another said we need more "roads" with many agreeing with him and gave a facebook thumbs up. UGH ! Now I am not as gung ho about adding bike lanes to streets. I know I am a minority on this topic. I am more of a runner walker not a bike rider.

But thinking we need MORE freeways and roads ? I think those in favor of rail system need to do a better job of selling rail and public transportation to the people of Fort Worth. I mean what is it that those more freeways more road people want ? Roads and freeways over our homes, schools and businesses ?
