Fort Worth Star - Telegram Section B page 1 [and 4b Council] "Fort Worth settles suit by fired employee' by Bill Hanna

Partial Quote "In the suit, Cathrine Davidson contended that city workers didn't deposit at least 17 checks from developers, totaling about $500,000, and that they didn't collect about $2.4 million in fees "in order to provide special treatment for certain developers such as Hillwood Development Company."

AND it makes me wonder about 'Fort Worth Cities Budget shortfall' issues and city employees that might be the cause.

I hope HEADS ROLL

Issues like this really turn me sour on Fort Worth. I have already moved my residence out of Fort Worth and I am strongly considering signing a lease somewhere else for my business when me lease is up in 2.5 years.

The city should have moved to 10-1. The far Northside is severely under repped. Most of the new construction and growth over the last 20 years with almost no city services.

Agree... Far North Fort Worth residents do not have the same interests of those living around Rivercrest. I believe both areas are represented by the same council person. As a result... the outer limits of Fort Worth which should be thriving are left to decay because our council is so central city focused and refuses to provide services and adequate roads where the tax base is growing the most.

In fact, as an ex Fort Worth resident... this played into my decision to leave Fort Worth as I previously lived in the Eagle Mountain area. I became quite disenchanted with a city that wishes to annex as much property as possible and increase my taxes and offer NOTHING in return.

I normally drive in on Houston and out on Commerce, leaving Main Street for walking, so no complaints here if it were to ever go 'pedestrian only'.

Main Street sees very little traffic and could easily be diverted to Houston, Throck, etc. Just keep the cross streets open at the intersections.

I seem to remember that they had plans at some point to build a second building and finish off the block... or am I imagining things?
