This fantastic tropical garden was built over many years by artisans employed by surrealist artist and poet Edward James. The site is in the furthest south extreme of San Luis Potosi state, and has been a favorite side trip for cavers visiting and exploring the massive vertical caves in the region since the 1950's. The sculptural structures (or structural sculptures) in the garden, whose name translate to "the Pools", are all of reinforced concrete. This is the entrance to the garden leading to one of the several small houses where James entertained thinkers and cultural figures during the 1960's and 70's.
