Everyone, I know the economy is down, but we need to start posting more. I know that I haven't been posting as much, either, but I could always count on the members to keep this place lively. I will also try to post more topics, but I've been pretty busy lately. Also, every chance that I could, I have gone out of town.

If you have any interesting, or beautiful photographs, please post those in the appropriate sections, as well.

The traffic around here has definitely slowed down. There's just not as much going on as there was 5 years ago. We took our daughter to the arboretum in Dallas on Sunday for pictures with a photographer and I took several around the area with my own camera. I'll try to get those posted sometime in the next few days.

The slow down is also my fault. Over the last few months, I have been getting on the computer around 9-9:30 at night and just checking e-mail and reading posts. I'm also not out much taking photographs.

There's actually plenty going on. We've just slowed down on posting.

I think we need to get back to the architectural roots of the forum. I'm not an architect, but I love buildings and came originally to learn more about the buildings in downtown.

I have been working on new pages for all of the Cultural District buildings, so gradually, they will all be upgraded on the main web site. I have also been taking a few new photographs.

I've noticed it goes in spurts, slow gaps then it picks up a bit, I've noticed a lull on other forums too, FB, etc... but once the weather changes things pick up, already noticed some increased activity other places.

I had been following this forum for years prior to becoming a member. I like the greater “intimacy” here, as well as the well-written and respectful quality of opinions. Your forum compares favorably in contrast to those of various news media websites (including the Star-Telegram's) where much of the posted comments contain atrociously written junk and are often disrespectful of other’ opinions. My suggestion: keep the broader focus of your forum, not just architectural issues. I’m not an architect (being, alas, a shyster lawyer) but I have lots of opinions about Fort Worth and its environs that go beyond building designs. In my view, the more variety of your membership, the greater the vitality of your forum.

I'm working on some friend's sites right now as well as a few of my own, but have been thinking of a FB type option to the forum if not an actual FB app of sorts. I know we've discussed it a couple times, perhaps a mobile feature to the forum that would give people the ability to snap a mobile shot of something going on whether it be architectural or city centric, but I do think it should be separated from the actual forum but easily linkable from the forum for discussion's sake.

Thought it might be a cheap and easy way for people to upload their photos and link to them without going the Flicker route.

Well, since everyone is jumping on Facebook, I'm actually considering setting up a page for the site. I know it will be more work and it will involve some time, but it might generate more interest in the site.

Also, I'm updating the name changes and pages for the two Star-Telegram Buildings. They are the Old Fort Worth Star-Telegram, which was purchased by Bob Simpson and just vacated by the paper, and the former Commerce Building.

We admit to spending more time on FB's "Remember in Fort Worth" page & Flickr, but there's nothing like a good forum. WAY better grammar!
