A major review of the Master Thoroughfare Plan is being taken up by a city task force, the first such review since 2009:

Some of the touch phrases include multi-mode, bike lanes, roundabouts, additional street classifications, sidewalk width, "complete streets", efficient travel routes/resolving gaps in continuity, orderly growth/sustainable development, and "planned-road diets" (my translation). The task force is made up of a variety on interests, but seems weighted with development types. Was I don't know the individuals I cannot comment on their level of "enlightenment" with modern trends, but the description of the job to be done leads this reader to feel that some positive results could emerge from the process. If such a plan is adopted it would still be up to the notoriously plastic City Council to actually make the guidelines stick in each particular situation.

Yeah I saw this and then was searching on how to "volunteer" but I couldn't find a way.

I am guessing volunteer just means "select volunteers"
