I didn't see this mentioned anywhere else:

Case ZC-15-150 (item 12 in the agenda) shows an Aloft Hotel near the I-35W / 285 Split south of Alliance Airport between Heritage Trace and North Tarrant Parkway across the interstate from Alliance Town Center. 5 story, 136 rooms. Compatible, consistent, etc. Metal, stone or EFIS exteriors allowed. Typical suburban layout...

I am not very familiar with Aloft brands but remember some forum posters had expressed hope some while back that the company might consider putting a hotel in the Museum District.

Aloft seems to be pretty consistent in building in both urban cores and in suburban areas. I would be surprised if they don't place one in the central core before long.

I've only stayed in the property at Legacy in Plano. As far as affordable hotels go, I thought it was very nice. It had a very modern look similar to their big brother W and the room was very large and comfortable.

Looking at some of the on-line photos of Aloft hotels in the DFW area, I noticed that nearly all are low-rise buildings, with the exception of the downtown Dallas one (see below), which is an 8-story mid-rise hotel.  So...if one is planned for downtown FW, would it be about 8 floors?

The downtown Dallas location is in a converted warehouse and has 193 rooms, quite a few more than the one planned for Alliance and probably most of their suburban locations. What ends up in FW depends on the where/what/how many rooms. I feel like they would fit perfect in the planned hotel space at Museum Place, which would be new construction.

Museaum Place still seems commited to a hotel so not to late to lose hope.

The Aloft in downtown NOLA is massive, assume it's a converted office building, but its 30+ floors. http://canalstreetbe...225-Baronne.jpg

The Aloft NOLA/DT is indeed a converted office building, The Baronne Building. It is now a mixed use development with apartments and the hotel.

As an aside, the developer of the Aloft in New Orleans is the same firm that is developing the Westin Hotel on University Drive in the Cultural District.
