I think it is time to focus this discussion on the Hyatt House Hotel. I was going to ask that we keep this discussion on topic at lunch, but I was sidetracked. (Kind of like this thread.)

Says who? Again, you're trying to project your own awareness of what many would consider a subjective, arbitrary label. I just fail to see the crime in someone not realizing that a development 3000 feet outside of Doohickie's above boundaries isn't a part of downtown. If you make a habit of correcting people for such a petty mistake, I'm betting you have trouble making friends.
I think you're taking this a lot more serious than I am...

I don't know. John asked us to move on. I have.
I agree. This thread started out as a kind of quiz as to where the Hyatt House is to be located. Then someone got the idea it is to be at 1300 W. 7th. Then the S-T article said "downtown." Then much of us started a philosophical debate on what "downtown" means. As for me, I'm assuming the intelligence of reporter Sandra Baker that downtown is downtown. We shall see, soon I hope.
As to the proposed building design of the Hyatt House, I like it.

There is an existing thread that is suited for this discussion "Districts of Fort Worth".
Often, there is an existing or suitable threads that comments can be posted; that comments can be catalogued and that comments can be readily searched and referenced when the need arises.

I guess the feasibility study wasn't good on this one. The rendering has been removed from the Company's Website.

It's still on HRGA's website. Tricorp's whole website doesn't seem to work.
I have'nt heard one way or another whether this is still on or not, but I do know that it was dependant on obtaining land from another entity which may be taking more time than expected.

In the most recent Hunden Partners convention center study was this list - which mentions the Hyatt House at Calhoun and 16th. Remember that the Sheraton's owners are supposedly involved with the Hyatt House and owned some of the land behind the building, so this makes sense. 3 of those blocks are also part of A&M's hopefully soon to be under construction law school - this could be a buzzing little corner soon.

I wish they would hurry these up. I'm coming to Fort Worth this weekend and had a heck of a time finding a hotel anywhere near the city's core. Finally found one over by Hulen Mall. And this is often the case in my experience.
