The first "Earth Day" celebration was in 1970. This year's celebration (Saturday, April 22, 2017) will be remarkable in Fort Worth for two major events: the Main Street Arts Festival downtown and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure marathon at Clearfork. What with visitors and traffic, it's going to be a busy and crowded Saturday.
Earth Day 2017 will be busy time in FW

The Fort Worth Bicycling Association was also founded on that Earth Day back in 1970.

Not directly connect to Fort Worth, but a great step forward - Kroger to phase out plastic bags.
As one of their regular, almost go to shoppers, this is long over due. I request paper when shopping.

We keep reusable bags on hand and try to re-use them as much as possible. I always reuse plastic bags either for taking my lunch to work as liners in bathroom trash cans as opposed to buying small trash bags.

Need a reason to vote, in the inconceivable possibility that you do not have one, remember those who deny Climate Change, most of whom are Baby Boomers like me; and cast your vote accordingly. I will likely escape this catastrophe, but I am sure some of you will not!
