I did some driving for Uber & Lyft for a little while and W. 7th is a totally different animal on the weekend. It is much busier than Sundance and the Stockyards combined and the clientele of the area is much younger. Most of the people who frequent the area are usually TCU & UTA students and include many fraternity and sorority members and they are wild. Very wild. I've never had as many extremely drunk and obnoxious passengers from other areas as I would when I picked up from W. 7th. During home games for football it's twice as bad especially when larger schools with a large following comes to town. (Last year the Arkansas, OU and Ok State weekends were extremely debaucherous). My question is 7th Street that much of a different animal than say Sundance Square ? Or even the Stockyards ? As far as how the police deal with popular areas ?
I totally agree with you. My own experience on Saturday nights at both the Stockyards and West Seventh areas leads me to conclude that the West Seventh night-time youth activity is more widespread and wilder than the Stockyards. One reason I believe it's more difficult for police to patrol is that the West Seventh area is larger and has more night clubs than the Stockyards. I would hardly think this is a problem for Sundance Square for two reasons. SS is less dense in terms of night club locations (they are more interspersed among the office towers) and the police have help from the SS regulators (maybe a poor choice of acronyms here, if you guess my meaning).
