Just a thought... for the future. Especially with the new plaza in Sundance that will be ready next year.

How about having Main Street blocked off from 1st to 5th, with screens at the end for the countdown and (of course) the Courthouse being the focal point with fireworks from the Trinity. We could also have live music and other activities (just like tonight) to go along with it.

We'll call it "N.Y.E.S.S." (pronounced as 'nice')

You know, just a thought...

"Jeriat, I like your idea".

However a better place, IMO, for this particular thread might be under the thread heading "Arts and Entertainment".   I think it is always easier for other members to locate and then comment on a topic when a thread is placed in a category that bears some general relations to the topic at hand.  Should you agree, you might ask John to move this thread to different category.   :)

Happy new year!

That would be awesome. I wonder if they could do something like turn off all the lights in the City Center towers as part of the countdown? Just our own Big D NYE would be fun. Mostly just need fireworks.

That's actually a great idea!

Have large projections of numbers hitting the higher parts of the towers.

The fireworks, right IN Sundance Square, reminded me a lot of Time Square, I could see the event growing so fast that they'll need to have things taking place in multiple locations downtown. ...but when the clock strikes midnight, all eyes downtown.
