In the clearest case I've seen of art imitating life, I present to you the latest episode of South Park:

....funny thing about this:

I actually thought of this EXACT name for the Lancaster Corridor a few years ago.

Honestly, I like L.C. better.

I'm going with SoDoFoWo from here on out. If I was an entrepreneur I'd have a cart setup on Saturday at Arts Goggle selling shirts with "SoDoFoWo" on there. Ha!

It does have an alphabetical symmetry to it.  The letter "o" is preeminent in each of the four words; and by that criteria, I find it clever, communicative and thought provoking.  I think it can generate some "luv".

SoDoFoWo just sounds... Silly.

Like the name of some character in a morning PBS Kids show, ya know?

Doesn't everybody have a Southside so what so catchy about "Near Southside,.... near?

Yes it is silly, maybe as silly as carrying this out to infinite - for instance,  we could conceivably have far near southside, north near southside, east near southside, south near southside....... :swg:

I'd rather have "Near Southside", than this:

Besides, names for neighborhoods come naturally and grow with its residents/visitors.

Of course,  I would imagine that this area of Fort Worth has always had a historical name, why not just call it by that.

You might also call it Broadway which has a nicer ring to it then "Near Southside" :)

Why not carve it into 12 or 15 separate zones like downtown?

Actually, there are existing neighborhoods that make sense by themselves without the need for marketing heads: Hospital District, Magnolia, South Main, Upper Hemphill, Fairmount, Ryan Place, Morningside...

Honestly, we can do that for ALL of the Core Hoods.

Downtown
- Sundance Square
- Lancaster Corridor

- Upper Westside

- Trinity Uptown/ Rock Island

- Summit

- Flatiron District

Cultural District
- West 7th

- Left Bank

- Linwood

- Museum Place

- Monticello
- the city carks

 Near Southside

- Main Street Center (or whatever they're calling it)

- Medical District East

- Medical District West

- Fairmont

- Magnolia Ave.

- Ryan Place

Near Northside
- Stockyards

- Mercado/Marine Creek

- North Side
- Oakhurst

And I'm sure that when Panther Island is all established, it will have its division as well.
