#58706 Former Church Building on El Campo Ave.

Posted by klopton on 02 December 2009 - 10:17 AM in Local History

Does anyone know anything about the former church building at 5001 El Campo? It's near the Camp Bowie intersection. Recently it has been everything from a nail spa to a florist. I looked on TAD and at one point (in the 1980s) it was listed as "White Settlement Church of God" I'm wondering when was it built and what kind of church was it originally.

Here's a link to the google map.

#53618 Fort Worth Flood Postcard (1908)

I have a friend who is a postcard dealer and she gave me this card a few years ago. I've never seen it anywhere else and thought that perhaps someone else would find it interesting so I've posted it (both sides)

If you click on the google maps link... you'll see it. Look for the label that says "Heritage Park Plaza".
Its in the general area.

The Star-Telegram had an article today about the possible reopening of Heritage Park.

...which leads to my question.
Does anyone know the history of La Corte Barrio? I've always found it kind of odd and mysterious...

#53520 Uncle Julio's building

Does anyone know what the Uncle Julio's building on Camp Bowie was used for prior to it being an Uncle Julio's location? According to their Web site they opened in 1986. The building is obviously much older. Thanks!

Does anyone know if the Camp Bowie Striplings location will be torn down tomorrow morning? Fort Worth Business Press reported in October that it would be.
