Ellison Furniture & Carpet Co. Mattress Factory/Tindall Properties

Ellison Furniture and Carpet Company constructed this mattress factory across Pecan Street from their three warehouses, built a few years earlier.  For many years, in-house brand mattresses for the furniture company were made here.  The building is constructed of reinforced concrete with brick infill and has a four story section to the south and what appears to be a later addition of two stories to the north.  Although the architect is not known, the building is believed to have been designed by Sanguinet & Staats.  Much of the brick and concrete on the exterior has been painted, but along with Tindall Square, the building forms a small historic warehouse district on the far east side of downtown.  Currently the building is used for Tindall Record Storage.
