The Depot Apartments

The Cotton Depot Apartments is a new apartment development under construction on the east side of downtown Fort Worth.  199 units have been proposed for the new development.  The apartments sit on a site of the St. Louis Southwestern Railway of Texas Freight Depot, better known as the Cotton Belt Railroad.   The Freight Depot was constructed in 1915 with a small, two story office building and a long, narrow, one story warehouse.  Both parts of the building were brick.  The warehouse portion of the building has been demolished to construct new apartments and they have risen on the spot of the warehouse itself.  The depot building itself has been restored and houses the complex's office and clubhouse functions.
