This project started out as an 11 story office building called River Plaza. It was completed in 1984. Over the years, parts of the property were redeveloped, which included the construction of the Silver Fox Steakhouse directly on University Drive. However, in 2008, Trademark Property Co. announced a total redevelopment of the property. A small retail building housing two restaurants opened adjacent to University Drive. Zoe's Kitchen and East Hampton Sandwich Co. are located within this building. It opened in 2010. A large parking garage designed to handle the parking needs for the redeveloped project opened in 2012, but the ground floor retail was not completed until 2015. Tenants inside the parking garage retail include Tyler's, Pax & Parker, and HG Sply Co. WestBend 2, a four story building with space for a grocery store and restaurants on the ground floor and three floors of office space above, opened in 2015. The Fresh Market opened in 2015, but was only open for about one year when the grocer decided to pull out of Texas. Tom Thumb will be taking over that space, and will be opening soon. Bennett Benner Partners designed WestBend 2. Trademark announced in 2016 they had purchased the adjacent Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham property immediately to the south and they will be constructing a new hotel and a residential/retail building on that site.
